Address: 45 Suvorov Ave.
Construction period: beginning of the 20th century, until 1913
The exterior of the building with intricately decorated pediments indicates that it is more than a dozen years old. The old gates are also noteworthy. The exact meaning of the letter “M” above them, apparently indicating the name of the first owner, still remains a mystery. The pediment of the building is decorated with an image of a fan.
To date, much in the exterior of the building has changed – modern stucco has appeared, the main entrance from Suvorov Ave. has been plastered.
According to existed info, the building appeared at the beginning of the 20th century and was then located on the corner of former Nadezhdinskaya Street, which later changed its name to Karl Marx str. (now it’s Verkhnetorgovaya str.).
It is known that in the first half of the 20th century A. Grinwald’s art photography salon worked here. In particular, it was possible to order in it here not only an artistic photo in front of exotic background, photo restoration of the faded photo cards, but also an exclusive service for Izmail – enlarging of the portraits to the desired size.
Since World War II finishing the building is used as a residential building.
