In 1942-1944 a warehouse was located here, which was used by the mayor of Izmail. Archival documents tell us that its owner and administrator was Mr. Engineer Mikhail Burt, a representative of the famous Izmail family.
Mikhail Mikhailovich Burt, born in 1878, is a native of the village of Tuzly of Akkerman County, Serbian: in 1909 he was a member of the Izmail Permanent Land Committee, Honorary Trustee of the Izmail Men’s Gymnasium and Honorary Overseer of the Izmail 6-grade school.
In 1916 – member of the Izmail branch of the Provincial Guardians of Prisons Committee.
In July 1940, on July 11, store owner Mikhail Burt was arrested by the NKVD in the Akkerman Region on charges of counter-revolutionary activity.
Sentenced on March 29, 1941 by the decision of the Special Meeting at the NKVD of the USSR for 5 years in prison, sent to Vorkuta and died there.
He was rehabilitated on December 15, 1989 at the conclusion of the Odessa region prosecutor’s office in accordance with Article 1 of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 16, 89.
The building was built of brick, tiled.
