Izmail has its own building with one wall – being on the street. Kommercheskaya it has a postal address Bolgradskaya str., 63.
The building is a part of the hospital complex of the Dermatological Hospital and bears the modest name “letter G.” However, despite its rather inconspicuous purpose today, it deserves a more detailed story.
Despite its modest size, the mansion stands out against the background of many other buildings of old Izmail with unusual architecture. Contrary to the traditional architecture of the buildings of wealthy Izmail residents of the late XIX – early XX centuries, its facade is abundantly decorated with all kinds of decorative details. There’s definitely something for everyone – plant motifs, monograms, brushes and even a semblance of a coat of arms. A proud pediment is crowned by a series of decorative balusters.
According to the data of the inter-city bureau of technical inventory, it was built during Romanian period in 1932. This date is not based on archival research, but is written down from the words of the local inhabitants in 1956, when it was residential and when the house building data sheet was updated again.
In 2013, this building of the inpatient department of the district dermatovenereologic hospital passed into joint ownership of the territorial communities of the Izmail region, as well as the outpatient department.
