Address: Belgorod-Dnestrovskaya str., 46
Period of construction: probably the beginning of the twentieth century
Storeys – 1
The mansion of the pre-revolutionary period (was built before the October Revolution of 1917) is located on the corner of Belgorod-Dnestrovskaya and Sobornaya Streets (formerly – Kirov Str.), opposite the Izmail Central District Hospital.
Judging by the size and architecture, building was constructed at least a hundred years ago and could belong to a wealthy city dweller: the traditional red brick of solid walls, huge windows, the main entrance to the building, which no one has been using for a long time. Double-winged wooden doors with a bulky metal bolt an old porch with five steps are conspicuous.
According to local residents in the Romanian period of Izmail history a senator of the Romanian parliament and his family lived in this house. He was Greek by nationality. The interior inside the mansion was matched by the high position of the owner.
However, after 1944 the senator and his family left these places forever. Now there is a pharmacy here.
